Legal Entailments of Power of Attorney

The power of attorney constitutes a contract whereby a person undertakes gratuitously, or by salary, to execute one or more business on behalf of another, as instructed.

  • Power can be specific or general.
  • The specific power is for a specific transaction or transactions, or action and actions.
  • The general Power of Attorney will be for all businesses of the principal, in this case, which corresponds to case management and disposition.
  • To compromise, alienate, mortgage, or perform any other act that exceeds the ordinary administration, the command should be explicit in this regard.
  • The power is extinguished by termination, resignation of the president, death, interdiction, bankruptcy or assignment for the principal or the agent; disqualification of the principal or the agent.

Necessary documents to register a specific or general Power of Attorney:

  • Original Power, which must be drafted by an attorney duly referee in Venezuela, in Spanish.
  • Original identity card or other identity document, the grantor or grantors.

  • To register a specific Power: The amount of the consular action shall be payed in a bank deposit to the Embassy. 100 American Dollars (100 USD) at TD CANADATRUST BRANCH 3312 Num. 7303133, under the name of "Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela". Proof of such deposit in the form of a receipt must be presented at the Embassy. Documents must be turned in within a year of issue of receipt.
  • To register a general Power: The amount of the consular action shall be payed in a bank deposit to the Embassy. 300 American Dollars (300 USD) at TD CANADATRUST BRANCH 3312 Num. 7303133, under the name of "Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela". Proof of such deposit in the form of a receipt must be presented at the Embassy. Documents must be turned in within a year of issue of receipt.

OBSERVATIONS:

  • The grantor should contact the Consular Section of the Embassy, to coordinate the date to sign the Power, regarding the document, the precautions to be submitted and Consular Rights concerning.
  • Grantor shall give the text of the power beforehand to the acting consular officer, in order that so that it is ready for the day of the signing.
  • Documents with erasures and / or in poor condition will not be accepted.

"Veterinarian Doctor Day"

On July 21, the National Day of Veterinary is celebrated in Venezuela. This date was chosen during the I Grancolombian Congress of Veterinarian Doctors, event that took place from July 21-28, 1946, in the Andrés Bello High School, in Caracas, Venezuela.

In the afore-mentioned event, representatives from Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela discussed several professional, academic and social proposals, and they agreed to celebrate the "Veterinarian Doctor Day" on 21 July of each year; however, today, this day is onlycelebrated in Venezuela.
