Qatar, April 21, 2015 (MPPRE).- The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Delcy Rodríguez, accompanied by the Ministers for Petroleum and Mining, Asdrubal Chavez; and Economy and Finance, Rodolfo Torres Marco, are in Doah - Qatar, with the objective of continuing the working tour of member nations of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
In Qatar, the ministers will fulfill an important and tight agenda. Among this, the defense of oil prices that the Bolivarian Government stands by, promoting a consensus proposed by President Maduro last January.
Diplomatic relations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the State of Qatar were officially established in 1973. But it was not until the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999 when the Bolivarian government began negotiations in order to encourage greater bilateral ties.
Both nations have signed several agreements on oil policy, energy, agriculture, tourism and sports areas.
Relations between the two governments have proven to be based on mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
