The Hugo Chavez peoples defense front (HCPDF), Ottawa and National Capital Region chapter, commemorated once again with nostalgia and a deep spirit of Latin American Unity, the fourth anniversary of the physical disappearance and the legacy of the eternal commander Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias
His revolutionary spirit of love and solidarity with the cause of the voiceless, of the most vulnerable and most helpless of his fatherland and of this continent, still resound throughout the world and is the light and guide which shows us unerringly that the revolutionary spirit, of insurgency and struggle of Bolivar, Zamora, Marti, Villa, Zapata, of Che, Fidel, Farabundo and Sandino is still alive and more valid than ever.
The footsteps of Marti and Bolivar, turned into a guiding light by Fidel and Chavez through ALBA, could never be extinguished by traitors and frontmen at the service of the empire, today encysted in countries of the region which in their time were defenders from the savage economic policies of ALCA and of Bush junior.
Today more than ever, Venezuela is threatened, encircled and under brutal siege by the empire in connivance with a venal and apatriotic native oligarchy and its reality deformed and defamed ad nauseam by powerful media, capable of manipulation and creating conditions for provocations, bribery, wars and aggressions which turn back the Bolivarian revolutionary process and which the Venezuelan people are trying by all means to avoid.
The recent declarations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States against the vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tareck El Aissami confirm these pernicious and Machiavellian ambitions and are a clear indication of potential acts of assassination, only too well known and practiced by imperial blocks or powers, in situations of working to weaken and alienate legitimately constituted powers.
Through this medium we are making a call to denounce and condemn the said aspirations and to redouble our Latin American and world solidarity in defense of the Bolivarian revolution and of the legitimate right of the Venezuelan people to resolve their internal affairs without interventions of any type and to keep their right to sovereignty and self-determination.
