Registering the marriage abroad of Venezuelans

For the purposes of legalizing and including the Marriage Certificate of Venezuela citizens who marry abroad in the books of the Civil Registry of Venezuela, the applicant(s) must present the following documents:
Two (2) original "Statement of Marriage" documents issued by the competent authority in Canada, duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada.
The Venezuelan citizen must present his or her original identity documents (Identity Card and passport). The Canadian citizen (if that is the case), must present his or her passport or other identity document.
The applicant must fill out a copy of the "Extracto del Acta de Matrimonio" form supplied by the Consular Section of the Embassy. The cost of legalizing the Marriage Certificate is thirty US dollars (US$ 30), in a Money Order payable to: Embassy of Venezuela.
The original signed extracts and attachments will be sent, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior and Justice to the Highest Civil Authority of the Parish or Municipality of most recent residence in Venezuela for the purpose of inclusion in the corresponding registry.
