Note: The citizens with tourist visa will be able to introduce their personal belongings used or new, for personal use, as long as they do not exceed the equivalent of one thousand American Dollars (US $1,000). And one owned vehicle, which cannot be sold and will have to leave the country at the same time the owner leaves.
Therefore, those citizens wishing to enter Venezuela as tourist with their vehicles will have to fulfil the following requirements:
- Ownership of vehicle duly legalised (Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Venezuela)
- Passport with stamped visa
- Driver’s permit or licence
THE TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OR EXIT OF AUTOMOVILE VEHICLES BY TOURIST FROM NATIONAL TERRITORY WILL ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING NORMS:
Those interested in abiding by the current regime must previously introduce before the customs authorities qualified for import-export operations, the document bearing proof of ownership of the vehicle, passport with a duly stamped visa and Driver’s Licence or equivalent. In the case of vehicles with national plates, the document issued by the Technical Corps of the Judicial Police will be required.
The Customs Office of the Jurisdiction will issue the document allowing temporary entry or exit of the vehicle and will stamp on the passport of the interested party a special seal which plainly identifies the vehicle and the date of entry or exit, without requiring a security deposit.
Temporary authorization of entry will be granted for the same period as stated on the visa, and authorization for exit will be granted for no more that one (1) year.
Vehicles, which have entered the country under this rule, will be exempt of import taxes and will only have to pay the tax for Customs services (1%).
