Venezuelan People and Government Express Condolences to Haitian People
Statement
In the wake of the powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday, the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela express their shared concern for the terrible material and human losses caused by this natural disaster. Venezuela also expresses its deepest condolences and solidarity with the fraternal people and government of the Republic of Haiti.
Faced with the growing emergency in Haiti, the government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is preparing the immediate shipment of humanitarian aid to help the victims of the earthquake in that fraternal country. Additionally, Venezuela supports the efforts made by the government of President René Preval to provide care to the victims and to rebuild affected infrastructure, and calls on all the countries of the world to send help to Haiti.
